( The song on this page is "I hate everything about you" from Three Days Grace. In the summer of 2004, I would play this song on the drive to Adam's soccer games and I cranked it loud and we would sing it together. The purpose of this song was to pump him up before the game, to hate his competition ,and play tough against them. I wasn't too competetive was I ? )

On August 10th, 2005, the very first Adam Vitaterna Memorial Cup was awarded to Arthur Casupanan from the Niagara Falls Under 12 boys team who play in the South Region Elite Division. We can not say enough how grateful we are to the Niagara Falls Soccer Club for creating this award. This trophy is presented to the player who most demonstrates dedication and love of the game. The player receives a keeper plaque with his name engraved on it as well as Adam's picture on the plaque. The main trophy stays in the club house and engraved each year with the MVP's name. How fitting that it was awarded to a child who was from Adam's same age group, and Adam played soccer with this boy at Under 8 age group. Congratulations Arthur !

September 10 2005 was a busy day as Nicolas's soccer team won the playoff finals and were also crowned league champions. On that same day Adam's soccer team the St Catharine's Concord Shooters won the most prestigiuos Ontario Cup by beating Ajax 1-0. Coach James brought home a championship medal for ADam. On that night we attended the teams victory party and presneted Adam's most famous fox hat to each player. We were fortunate to also watch the semi final game where the Concord beat North Mississauga in penalty shots on Adam's birthday as I wrote on the day of his birthday:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM !  Adam, today your Ontario Cup Game semi final game was awesome. What a great birthday present for you.Won on penalty kicks. You definitely scared us when in overtime North Miss scored a goal, they celebrated, a butterfly flew by, and then the ref saw the linesman's flag up for offside and the goal was disallowed. Then there was another scare when your team missed 2 out of the first 3 penalty kicks, then all of a sudden the rain came down, and North Mississauga missed the last 3 penalty kicks. I know you were there. See you in the final

On May 28th, 2005 the Niagara Falls Soccer Club opened the 2005 soccer season

The 2005 opening  day and season was dedicated to Matt Danielle, Matt Menna, and Adam Vitaterna, 3 soccer children who lost their lives tragically.

We cut the ribbon and released balloons into the air which had ribbons attached to them with the names of each of these 3 former soccer players.

We like to thank the Niagara Falls Soccer Club for dedicating opening day to these 3 fabulous young soccer players.

Also, at 11:00 am that same day , I watch my nephew Jeremy play for the Under 12  London Mavericks soccer team against the Niagara Falls team . I like to thank Vince , coach of the Niagara Falls Soccer team for gathering both teams at centre circle for a minute of silence in memory of Adam and the nice words he said about Adam.

London missed a few good scoring chances in the first half and led only 1 - 0 after the first half. Niagara Falls gained control of the second half outscoring London 3 -1 and winning the game 3 - 2.

On June 1st 2005, Marilena and I went to see Adam's St Catharine's Concord team play Niagara Falls. This was a tough one on us. Watching the pre-game warm ups without Adam being there. Then watching coach James give his team a pep talk just ba few minutes before the start of the game was tough. He has them sitting down on the grass in front of him . I tried to picture Adam sitting with his team mates.

Prior to the start of the game James had both teams meet at centre field for a minute of silence. Connor, Jame's son presented Marilena and I with a St Catharines Concord shirt with names of all the Concord and Niagara Falls players on the shirt. The Concord cheer before the game was 1-2-3 "ADAM"

It was a very well played game with Niagara Falls winning 1 -0

The 2006 Opening day ceremony is shown in the picture below.

Welcome to new & old players and their parents, another year has started and the weather could not have been better. Again the soccer club dedicates opening day to the memories of the kids whose lives were cut short because of illness or unfortunate circumstances.
